PUTRAJAYA: The controversy faced by Gombak MP Datuk Dr Rahman Ismail and Senator Datin Paduka Norhayati Onn over a photograph on the Internet, purportedly of them together, is expected to be discussed by the Umno supreme council tomorrow.
Sources said that although Norhayati had filed for divorce and the matter was now in court, the party was concerned, as the matter involved two Umno leaders.
“The position of the two will be discussed by the council. In politics, image is very important,” said a source.

“The matter should be discussed as it involves two Umno politicians. The interest of the party should come first.”
Another source said that if the case of Klang Umno chief Datuk Zakaria Md Deros, whose illegal construction of his mansion caused an uproar, was discussed at the supreme council level, the case involving the two politicians must also be raised.
The council in its meeting last month told Zakaria to resign as Klang municipal councillor.

However, no decision was made on his division post and position as Port Klang assemblyman.
The Star reported on Tuesday that Norhayati, who is Klang Umno division Wanita chief, and Dr Rahman, a committee member of the Gombak Umno division, had denied that the picture posted on the Internet was of them.
Sungai Pinang assemblyman Teng Chang Khim had posted a negative image of the photograph on his blog.
It showed a woman with her head on a man’s chest.
